Plain-English privacy information.
This notice describes the limited information used by MendMatch. It will be updated if analytics, advertising or account features materially change how information is handled.
Information we collect
When you request a model that is not yet indexed, we store the search term. When you follow a retailer or manufacturer link, we may store the search term, appliance model and destination URL. We do not ask for a name, account, postal address or payment information.
Why we use it
We use these records to prioritise missing appliances, understand which buying routes are useful and improve compatibility research. Our intended UK GDPR lawful basis is legitimate interests in operating and improving the service.
Hosting and technical records
Our hosting and security providers may process ordinary technical information such as IP addresses, timestamps, browser details and request logs to deliver and protect the website. Retailers you choose to visit process information under their own privacy and cookie notices.
Cookies
MendMatch does not currently add analytics or advertising cookies. Essential storage may be used by the hosting service to provide access and security. Affiliate retailers may use cookies after you choose to leave MendMatch; their own notices apply.
Retention and sharing
Search and click records will be reviewed and deleted when no longer useful, with a target maximum retention period of 12 months. We do not sell these records. They may be processed by service providers that host or maintain MendMatch, or disclosed when legally required.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to use of personal data. Contact hello@getmendmatch.com. You can also raise concerns with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
